Biography

Francesco Marcheselli is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and composer who began studying classical music and playing the oboe at an early age. He graduated in classical oboe from the Conservatory of Milan “Giuseppe Verdi,” under the guidance of Diego Dini Ciacci.

From a young age, his passion for blues music inspired him to expand his musical horizons beyond classical, embracing blues, jazz, and pop. In addition to performing with various orchestras. including Jong Metropole in 2024.

Francesco has played in blues bands, jazz ensembles, and big bands. In 2023, he performed alongside Gianluigi Trovesi and with Claudio Angeleri at the Blue Note of Milan in 2023.

In 2024 he was featured on the track “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me” in the album Healing Blues by Grammy-nominated Italian harmonica player Fabrizio Poggi, alongside Sharon White, vocalist of Eric Clapton.

Francesco is currently studying jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Joris Roelofs, where he recorded his debut singer-songwriter EP of original music, Love Consequences.

He’s currently playing with his pop band and jazz quartet in the Amsterdam musical scene and he’s giving workshops and masterclass about improvisation as an oboe player in prestigious occasions: he’s been been invited from Aofi (Associazione Oboisti e Fagottisti Italiani) to the 2025 congress in Milan (IT) and to the 2026 Adams International Oboe festival in Ittervort (NL).
